is changing banks from Lloyd's to partner with Santander. For lack of
support to create jobs and moral issues.
It is with deep regret but as a new era business and one that is
transparent and serving the interests of the local and wider
community. It does not sit with us morally that Lloyds Banking
Group has served its own interests and not the long term interests of
the State and its people.
For countless years from profits Lloyd's failed to invest in upgrades
and modernization. Only when the bank received the States bail out (our
money), they have modernized branches, built new properties and paid
themselves excessive bonuses.
We as a business and specialists in intelligence gathering, warned
Directors of Lloyds bank that is it critical to lend and invest in
small and medium business to prevent economic and eventually social
collapse. They failed to heed our warnings for nearly three years and
now we see half of our retail chains gone, or being taken over, or in
administration. The servicing sector is in a spiral downturn and every
small and medium business we network with, including professional
bodies are being refused lending, or have serious issues with the bank.
As a result of this behaviour we feel we can no longer support, or do
we wish to be associated with such an institution that has looked
towards its very own short term personal interests and snubbed the
goodwill of a Nation and its people who rescued Lloyd's Banking
Group and RBS.
Today in the Commons there has been a significant debate by both
parties in Parliament relating to some of our concerns expressed above.
From the discussions of constituency Members of Parliament. The
issues relating to the above is wide spread across the length and
breadth of the Nation. Countless good businesses by the day are now
closing and coupled with that our folks jobs. Today, even Lloyds has
announced a further loss of 600 jobs in addition to the mass redundancy
program underway at RBS.
Businesses, as we constantly remind Politicians and Government is the
heart beat of a community. Business creates employment for our folk,
that creates opportunity and for families to fulfil their personal
aspirations and dreams. The banking system is an integral party of a
modern day society with electronic services and more. Banks are
therefore no longer a form of enterprise to self serve itself. Our
society today is now dependent upon these services, the banking
mechanism is part of every community and as a result has a moral
obligation and responsibility to act in an accountable way.
As a protest of such deplorable behaviour, where a handful of people
running these banks, now determine the future of our State! The
consequences of such are significant to say the least. We have
therefore decided to leave Lloyd's and move to Santander who have given
my partner and I, assurances that they are keen to form relations with
small, medium and large businesses and to serve in the collective
interests of the communities they are a part of.
For the record and so it be known, we have countless projects and
employment opportunities to serve in the National interest and we have
been held back by a failed and flawed institution that still does not
understand the real ramifications and the events taking place of lost
jobs and broken lives as a result of their actions across a Nation.
